Summer Study Abroad

The Nanjing program is sponsored by the Confucius Institute at NC State University and is designed for students interested in studying Chinese language and culture. During the five week program, run in cooperation with Nanjing Normal University (NNU), experienced teachers who are specialized in teaching Chinese as a second language will teach an intensive Chinese language course. Previous Chinese language knowledge is not required; students will be arranged in different classes according to their performance in the initial placement test. Various cultural activities such as lectures on topics of Chinese culture, attendance at Chinese art performances and excursions to Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Yangzhou will also be arranged. Students will have a chance to talk and communicate directly with not only Chinese college students, but also other foreign students from all over the world who are learning Chinese at NNU.
